Description

This incredible fresco by Raphael was painted between 1509 and 1511. Covering four walls and the ceiling of a room within the private apartments of Pope Julius II in the Vatican, this fresco was an homage to Western philosophy with most of the Greek and Roman philosophers depicted. Richard Stemp explores this incredible work.
